Day 1: Niche Selection
Day 1: Niche Selection
Day 1:
So from today, You are going to start a journey that you will never forget. remember this day, because you have started something that you gonna celebrate it after few months. Don’t miss a single word in this blog to continue your journey. Required i gradients are: Hard work, smart work, patience, trust and consistency.
Day 1:
1. Niche selection using IKIGAI concept:
You may have heard of this concept, but for the blogging you have to apply this to find your niche. Don’t fall into a trap of high CPC keywords. Select something that you are best at. For example, if any housewife think to start a blogging and after bit of research she found that the dental problems and related blogs are on high demand. She think to do some research and write a blog. Will it work? no, never. Because whatever she will read, it’s already available there on internet. Why someone will come to her blog? So best way is, find something that you are best at. Remember the education you have taken, courses you learnt, experinece you have. Think of something that you have a great knowldge than anyone else.
Another example, suppose I am a science teacher, why should I start thinking of finance blog?
Apply this concept to choose a niche.
So the point is, write something that you are best at. IKIGAI is finding your expertise that is mutual in passion, mission, profession and vocation. For example, consider about a big sports player, who has international reach and having millions of followers. Ask Ronaldo, “did you choose this sports field to earn a fame and money?” He will say, “what a stupid question”. So the point is, one should follow their passion. If someone wants to become a famous but he has no skill of acting or sports, he is not interested in politics, should he try in these fields to become a famous? Of course not. But if he is best at drawing or painting, then he should definitely go for it.
here is my own IKIGAI result, I found teaching. That’s why I started a blog to “Teach”.
If you are still confused? You can comment in the comment section, I will help you to find a niche.
Some good examples of finding best niche:
1. I am a teacher- Start educational blog
2. I am a student – Start online educational resources blog
3. I am a housewife: Start recipe blog
4. I am a Mechanical Engineer- Start company experience blog.
Before you enter into a competition, explore the competitors. Find out what they are missing, what could be better, what are loopholes. You have to beat those competitors and the only way to do is “be better version”. Google ranking algorithm is very smart, trust it.
Know what readers actually want:
People love to read your creativity. Not your research.
People love to read your experiences, not your essay. You will find 2 or 3 best niche that you can work on. Start searching on it over the internet. Explore the websites, it’s content. Find the content that is missing. For example, if you are a software developer, people don’t want to read definitions and theories. They want to read practical experiences, practical mistakes you did and solutions over it.
Now you have to widen your approach, imagine whole world at a glance, think what people are doing, what they are looking for and what’s unavailable or less available. Blogging is not only about presenting an information, readers should be satisfied with your information.
Niche | Difficulty | Loopholes |
Health | Hard | Lack of content from experts. |
Finance | Hard | Lack of knowledge for a layman. |
Education | Moderate | Lack of proper guidance. |
Entertainment | Hard | Lack of genuine reviews. |
Arts | Moderate | Lack of blog tutorials. |
Sports | Hard | Lack of opinion based content. |
Look into a past, remember your school days. There were some “loved” and “boring” teachers around you. So how you labeled them like this? “Loved” one were a teachers who taught you a subject effectively, and the “boring” were those who failed to deliver a knowledge. So now in a blogging, you are a “Global” teacher. If you blog effectively, you will earn a “loved” badge, else google will mark you “boring”.
Help me to find a perfect niche.
Let’s take more examples:
I am a lawyer- start law cases study site.
I am an artist – start art tutorial website.
I am a homemaker – start product review website.
I am a student- start student’s forum website.
Micro Niche:
Micro niche is something that is a sub topic of wider topic. Such as “furniture” is a micro niche of ” home decor”. Yoga is micro niche of health and fitness. Abacus is micro niche of education.
Reporting:
